Directions to the Anatomiegebouw

BY CAR

If you are coming to the Anatomiegebouw by car, we recommend using one of the nearby parking garages. Although paid parking spaces are often available in the streets surrounding the building during the day. Below you will find directions from the parking garages to the Anatomiegebouw:

Parking Garage De Grifthoek (9-minute walk)

• Exit the parking garage and turn left onto Wittevrouwen-singel, heading towards Griftpark.

• After 100 meters, continue straight onto Kleine Singel.

• Follow the next curve to the left onto Blauwkapelseweg and after 20 meters, take the first right into Zandhofsestraat.

• Walk straight for 4 minutes until you reach the second intersection at Bekkerstraat.

• Turn left onto Bekkerstraat. After 300 meters, you will see the Anatomiegebouw on your right.

Parking Garage Kruisstraat (Near the City Theatre / 10-minute walk)

• Exit the parking garage and turn left onto Kruisstraat.

• Follow Kruisstraat until the intersection with Biltstraat and turn right onto Biltstraat.

• At the first intersection/traffic lights on Biltstraat, turn left before the pharmacy onto Bekkerstraat.

• Walk 500 meters along Bekkerstraat, and you will see the Anatomiegebouw on your right.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

• Take bus line 7 from Utrecht Central Station towards Voordorp. This bus departs every 10 minutes from Utrecht CS Jaarbeurszijde.

• Get off at the Eykmanplein stop.

• Walk back slightly along Blauwkapelseweg in a southern direction with Griftpark on your right.

• After 200 meters, before the water, turn left onto Alexander Numankade.

• Follow Alexander Numankade for about 200 meters until you see a small bridge on your right. Cross the bridge.

• You have arrived at the Anatomiegebouw.

Arriving in Utrecht and getting around

Utrecht is centrally located and easily accessible from the Netherlands and abroad. The city’s ultramodern train station offers fast rail connections to various destinations in the Netherlands and abroad.

Train

Utrecht Central Station is the largest transportation hub in the Netherlands and an important entry and transfer station.

Utrecht Central Station has a direct high-speed train connection with Germany and Switzerland. Amsterdam Central Station is frequented by many international trains, connecting the Netherlands to various cities and airports in Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

We encourage you to travel to Utrecht by train, where possible, and use public transport to reach the venue from your accommodation. Or why not, come to Utrecht University by bicycle for a real Dutch experience.

Public Transport

Utrecht boasts a superb public transportation network, enabling seamless and swift mobility via buses and trains. With multiple train and bus stations strategically positioned across the region, reaching your destination is both efficient and convenient.

Air

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is the internation airport closest to Utrecht. A regular Intercity rail service (up to 4x hourly) connects Schiphol Airport to Utrecht Central and it stops at Amsterdam Zuid and Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA. From Utrecht, the trains continue south to either Nijmegen (via Arnhem) or Venlo (via ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Eindhoven). The Schiphol-Utrecht journey takes just over 30 minutes and costs €10.20 (2nd class) and €17.34 (1st class).

A taxi from Schiphol to Utrecht would normally cost around €90 on the meter. Some companies can offer lower fixed fares.

Car

Utrecht is easily accessible by car using the A2, A12, A27 and A28 highways – the A2, the major north-south artery linking Amsterdam to Maastricht; the A12 linking Arnhem and Den Haag; the A27 which connects Almere to Breda and the A28 which goes to Groningen via Amersfoort and Zwolle.

You can find affordable parking on the outskirts of the city at one of the Utrecht P+R sites and ride a bus or light rail downtown. Utrecht P+R sites charge €7 for car parking which includes public transport tickets into the city for up to 5 people. Locations are P+R Westraven, P+R Utrecht Science Park, P+R Papendorp and P+R Leidsche Rijn. We don’t particularly recommend driving into Utrecht city centre, as car parking rates are high and some roads only allow travel by bus and taxi.
